I hate LEDs with a passion. But…

I fished on the concrete at North Shields once, same time I nearly got pi55ed on in Whitley Bay. Watched the boats come in and only caught a cold😂

Well I think it turned out OK. LEDs have lit the previously gloomy castle area. Put Colly’s plastics protectors in yellow, mirror blades and everything looks a lot fresher image.webpimage.webp

Boooo!!!!
Hissss!!!!

i hate LEDs too, and routinely take them out of all my games. Either they're on when they shouldn't be, or they're off when they shouldn't be. They prevent you from enjoying the dimming effects that were deliberately put in by the designers, and they give me a headache or temporarily blind me. fuc_k that!

apparently you can buy special ones that do this less, or buy some special board to fix some of this, and i know that none of this applies to more modern games that were designed with LEDs (when did that start, about 2000? 2005?) but why pay to fix a problem that doesn't exist? Heat and expense are not an issue in the home environment, and the light is just warmer and more welcoming.

shame on you, Alan Syson :tut:

I like the yellow protectors and have put mirror blades in both my games- it definitely helps to brighten up some pins where LEDs are needed in some cases - I think your MM looks tasteful 👍🏻

Incandescent bulbs suck! Good for EM's although I'd still LED it 😆

Old LED's and cheap LED's also suck!

Newer LED's such as comets are great, Never had a problem. Less chance of burning connectors, Less chance of anything on your old boards burning or blowing, less chance of plastics melting. Less power draw, avg. 180+ watts, down to less than 70 watts with LED's. If you use the right bulbs you get none of the ghosting (should be on but off, should be off but on) or blinding. Again use the right bulbs and you don't need the add on boards either. One person I know couldn't tell the difference between the add on board fitted and not.

I can't stand machines that are so dark you can't see what your doing especially in a dark environment, hence someone invented pinstadiums.

LEDs all the way!

Dan man! I agree. They’re the devil’s work, a multiball at Pinfest was a migraine on acid.
BUT.
There were bulbs, sorry @Poibug , inaccessible lamps that were blown/missing for donkey’s.
Everything’s new, ramps, wires, plastics etc.
Redecalled, twice, all the way from Wayno, ‘cos I made a pig’s ear first time,
And I don’t care what you think.
