I've taken delivery of 25m of Mettex Flat Braid Flb 2-5-26 (roughy 5mm x 1mm) which I've gone halves on with @Wiredworm. We kinda guessed that 12.5m should be more than enough to re-wire a single pin, and I was hoping it would be enough for two as one day I'll also do Vector.

So I just measured up my Paragon and being very generous with the length of each section here's what I need:

Backbox
80cm

Cabinet
70 + 105 + 20 + 10 + 40 + 10 + 20 + 10 + 25 = 310cm

TOTAL
390cm or about 4m

I'm just wondering if anyone else has done this before and knows how much they used?

Also, if anybody needs 4m to do their own pin it looks as though I have some spare. After VAT and postage it worked out at 89p per metre for us so a fiver would probably see it to you door in the post ;)

The pin I'm working on has some breaks in the ground wire but not planning to re-do the whole thing. Might just get a roll of the stuff anyway since I'm kidding myself if I think this is the only pin I'll shop!

This is the stuff if you want the link (it's on here in several places but you can never find it when you need it!):

£12.36 plus £3.99 postage and £3.27 VAT giving grand total of £19.62

I slightly typo'd the part number. It's FLB 2-5-36. Misleading but the "2-5" is code for a cross-sectional area of 2.5mm squared and "-36" represents the current rating in Amps: 36A. More than adequate for earthing in the UK. The nominal dimension are 1mm thick by 6mm wide.

I just went and drew out the braid path on my R&B before measuring up.

I've deliberately rounded a lot of the measurements up and even in doing that the final total only came in at 5.62m. So I reckon us splitting a full reel in half should still give us plenty to get the job done.

Drop me a PM with your address so I can paypal the funds to you please Peter.

I'll use that last 4metres @ £5 if it's still going spare?

Just let me know.
