Sold Ghostbusters LE £9950

I’ve used Williams before. Would never again.

Just before Christmas a couple of years or so back I purchased a machine from them with a faulty gun and old pound slot they promised would be updated, they promised the gun would be fixed and sorted after the Christmas period.

They don’t honour their own warranty.

The second screen (was a Time Crisis machine) stopped booting sporadically. They said they’d sort that after the Christmas period too.

I chased and chased, they ignored and never fixed. I ended up selling it as spares and made a massive loss.

Never again would I use them.

Sincerely, they have done *nothing* on my Fish Tales beyond put a couple of bright white and ‘twinkly’ GI LEDs on the playfield.

It is working, true. However, It is also filthy and, the more work I do, the more (albeit minor) problems I find.

Yesterday, while fitting LEDs behind the back glass, I discovered there is an ENTIRE top row of lights out (so, multimeter time on that wiring track). There are multiple lights out under the playfield and I’ve just noticed a broken lane guide.

Seriously, there are ‘needs restoration’/‘found in pub basement’ machines on the Pinball Info and Pinside forums that need less work than this thing. I’m just relieved that I didn’t pay Home Leisure Direct/Liberty Games prices for it, and that I bought it in the knowledge that I’d need to learn maintenance.

If I’d expected them to honour a warranty (I’m at the other side of the UK) or it to be collector’s quality, I’d be horrified… :(

[Pictures of some of the dusty, darkened filament bulbs I removed from behind the translite, the row of ’out’ bulbs on the top of the back glass, and the state of the rubbers that arrived with the machine].
