hi guys looking for some tech help before I rip my hair out, I have been restoring a getaway that I salvaged from the scrap pile, so far I have spent way more than the machine is ever going to be worth but hey.... It's a passion lol

Anyway she's all working looking pretty smart now the only issue I have is the knocker coil, the other day I gave up hope of ever getting it working, I scoured the test routines and couldn't find the solenoid test for the knocker which is a puzzler. I shorted the tip to ground which fired the coil as normal, but no knocker in game play. I pretty much gave up hope passing it off as a software issue.

But today I decided to drop a pound coin through the coin mech.... Well, to say I nearly **** myself is an understatement, 10 loud bangs and a slam tilt, followed by the game starting and launching the ball on its own. It seems the machine is pulsing the knocker as if it is the meter! The slam tilt and ball launch I have no idea why that happened as of yet, I suspected a diode fault but in switch test the coin mech, slam tilt and pretty much all other switches I tested are spot on, I even removed the coin door interface and tested the diodes manually with the meter

What's stranger is I also noticed the flippers and some other coils firing with the knocker when it pulses?

When I disconnect the knocker, and put a coin through the mech, it works perfectly. I'm really at my wits end, anybody out there know why this is happening?
And also why I don't have a knocker test in my solenoid tests?

Thanks in advance guys, Tim

Top lad!! Couldn't find the settings in the manual but a quick google search and it turns out they didn't correspond to anything, punched in the European settings and now it's perfect, works in test and game mode and coin mech works spot on, thanks so much for your help

Damn you rudedog!!!!! Lol was hoping he'd give up on it and give it to me for free,I'm only round corner lol.

I had this with my roadshow last week.
If the dips are in a certain config you can get the knocker output to fire every time a coin is deposited.
Hook your knocker up to counter and you have yourself a coin counter!
roadshow had 120,000 on the clock!
