This isn't so much as an on going build but more sharing a current predicament. With a bit of building involved.

I converted our garage last year to make a games room. I vowed I would never let it be taken over by the kids.

I'd just about got it where I wanted it in terms of paraphernalia and a few arcade machines.

Even made a light for it from an old skateboard

Now, the misses now goes on daily about it becoming a play room for the kids (I don't know why they can't just keep their crap In their room!).

I'm coming round to the idea (mainly to keep her quiet) as I have a back up.......

It was common in the lockdowns that everyone missed the pub/bar/going out. So folk starting building them in their gardens. And I jumped on the bandwagon and built one!

If it's use was slightly changed I could still house the bar but only really fit 3 pins in and have no social area. And this would mean I'd need to ship the arcade cabs off. Possibly to my works unit!

It's 15sqm but had I known this was going to happen. I could've moved it elsewhere in the garden and stretched to the full 30sqm without building regs.

Anyway. Still not sure what to do but hope you like the build! I did all the work myself apart from the flagging, wall and rendering.

Did it come in kit form?
Kind of. There's a company in Leeds called 'oakwood Gardens rooms' that do private builds but also released a build pack for certain sizes.
They also do lots of detailed videos and have a self build Facebook page.

what's on the other side of the fence that's against? it looks pretty high to be that close to the fence.

Someone else's garden.

I thought that when it first went up!

Its all within permitted development. 2.4m at that end with a 100mm fall. So makes its 2.5m overall

Looks great. I’ve been looking to do this for a while and the wife is keen as it gets the pins out of the house.

Quick question on those black steel (?) feet that sit on the concrete base. Do they just sit on the base or do they attach to the floor in some way like pile driven or bolted?

I just want mine to sit on the base as it is resin. It’s strong enough but I don’t want to damage it by drilling/smashing holes in it.

They're just a plastic riser that's adjustable. Perfect for your proposed use, and my base was semi built so a great option.

They hold 800kg. I've had a fair few people in the room and kids jumping up and down like crazy with no issues.

If your surface is already level then just get the slimline ones as it restricts your overall height. Theyd be mainly to keep the timbers off the floor and out if risk of damp/rot

Looks awesome

I am considering ditching the grass for paving but worried it would look rubbish.... your's looks ace... I am inspired !!

Thanks - you would not believe how many times I've asked different firms this question and never had a straight answer.

I might go self build if it saves decent cash. I also think it's best to stay in control of the electrics side when building a pinshed.
