Hi All

Looking to build my collection of pinball and arcade machine to build a games room.

Itd be good to see what everyone has done for inspiration. I've tried ye olde google but appear to give examples of silly sizes. I need something a bit more realistic.

Please share your set ups!

Once you have a plan worth sharing it - all of us learn something and we all have - wish I’d thought about this or that a bit more, some of us have done epic jobs on super low budgets; all of us have the wish I’d built it bigger thought in common though :) I would have made many more mistakes if it hadn’t been for the folks on here.

Seeing @AlanJ's thread with his extension progress and then seeing it complete is my inspiration for when I can afford such a thing!
(I see you want something more "realistic" though)

He saw the rule book on pin-rooms and said "f*** you, you're not the boss of me" and ripped that sucker to shreds.

Anyway that's how I imagine it happened in my head.

me too pretty please[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Yes yes Alan! but we need to get a 4th now clearly.
4 hand at Snooker, and I’ve got 4 pins 😬
Made a start today.
Wondering if I can get MET in my hydration pack, and if carrying it over counts daily exercise 🙄

The issue for me is, I’ve just bought a house with this blank canvas, but my pins are locked down in storage elsewhere (only about a mile away [emoji85])

Was that in the house? I nearly bought a house with a snooker room and planned to move that out to use for pinballs but the room wasn’t quite big enough. Guy selling didn’t want to hassle of getting the snooker table out!

Hang on a sec.... those look like snooker trophies. You might actually be good at snooker.

This is a fix! I’m out.

Actually... ive not played anyone yet!
The 58 is my highest break practicing (I’ve played for about an hour), and the 14 is Billiards 🙈 My loser play isn’t going well (only had about 10 minutes to try out the new balls)
I used to play a lot, but haven’t picked up the cue seriously in over 10 years... youre all safe!
@Monkeyboypaul - I’ve just realised you’ve had far more time on a MET than me...

So....
With the impact of COVID and the new lockdown measures. I've decided to scale back the project and keep it simple, something I should be able to get done within the month and enjoy it come Christmas, whatever the situation may be.

I'm going to convert the garage

Built the framing for the stud wall! Will board and insulate it tomorrow and hopefully get round to framing the floor over the weekend!

Thats next for the floor, well after a little more work on the framing. The wall has had acoustic insulation, tyvek airguard and insulation backed plasterboard.

Very nice indeed. My view was to have 3 pins in there, a bar and a few arcades. But I'm already measuring to see how many pins I can fit in.

We've already got a play room and i made sure of that so it doesn't crop up later down the line

Doors are in. The plasterer postponed until next week.
You can see my pins through the glass. They currently reside in my lounge. Let's just say the misses wasn't too happy when I fired them up at 7:30 Saturday morning.
