Hello everyone I’ve finally set up my funhouse and it started to reset/restart I’ve managed a few games and all was good then, it randomly resets looks like a power issue?
It was refurbished to a great standard a few years ago it’s had a replacement rottondog cpu board with remote battery pack (which fell off so is now removed) so hopefully no issues with cpu battery damage?
I have only set it up for a party on Friday? Any quick pointers on where to start I could really do with using it Friday
Any suggestions appreciated
Next stop is to check voltages, are the power boards interchangeable?
Any help appreciated
Thanks Tony

So its just likely your Power Driver Board is dropping 5v to the MPU (CPU) and causing it to reset.

Funhouse is a WPC89 Game so Power Driver boards are pretty easy to come by. However you can quite easily send your board off for repair through many of the individuals on this forum.

As a temp fix you can always purchase this:

This will just disguise the issue but will get you by.

If your game has mods or a colour screen you can always migrate these to a seperate PSU to ease strain on the power driver board.

Cheers,

Scott

Recently, it has been harder and harder to cheaply find a WPC89 power driver board in working condition, especially the earlier boards with the same A-12697-1.
The later WPC89 boards can be populated with the components to make them work https://pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php/Williams_WPC#WPC-89_Power.2FDriver_Board
That page will also show what other games may have the same board in it that you can switch over.

I'd reseat all the connectors in the backbox first. I had resets on a few games. Cleaned up the connectors and pins and they haven't reset since (it was a nearly a year ago now!)

Sometimes it's the simple things that you should try before going nuts replacing caps or new boards.

Thanks everyone just on with T2 at the moment fingers crossed for that one?

No need to buy a new board.

Get the power section rebuilt. Also I now change a couple of other caps too I found give reset issues.

You can send board to me, Phil Palmer or Jim and get it done.

I use the nomorereset boards as a
Temporary fix.
