All my life I've always loved fruits, and from the age of 17 nearly always had one in an house, or my bedroom when at mum & dads house....

Year bought.......
First was an 70's Bell fruit full of relays, forgot the name... 1985
Second - Barcest Sidewinder (had a monitor display for reels) 1988
Third - JPM Roadrunner 1989
Forth - Barcrest Royal Exchange 1990
Fifth - Aristocrat Acadian 2003
Sixth - Aristocrat Grosvenor 2003
Seventh - Mazooma Red Hot X 2012

Wife thinks I'm not normal?
So I don't like jewellery and flash clothes...... But arcade stuff.... Oh-Yes.

Nice selection..... Loved my £50.00 Royal Exchange, Sidewinder was great too but if I remember correctly it was a bastard to get upstairs with the weight of it and bulkiness.
What mechanical have you got? I've still got my Arcadian...

I've got
Simpsons beer guide
Cash attack
Both cheap if any one wants
Had monty python and the holy grail but sold that
Fun machines and never play ones you don't own

Barcrest Loony Bin
JPM Winsprint
Project Treasure Trail
JPM Gforce
JPM Big Banker
JPM Big Bucks (only recently sold - top game)

Most games are easily emulated now too.
Just wish they'd get Monte Carlo or Bust sorted!

I don't get them at all. On site, they are set up with odds that are so against you, I wouldn't give them a quid. But then in your own home? Even the thrill that you might win something is surely lost. I totally don't get it :hmm:

Love em! Great money boxes - I used to empty all my loose change into them when I had one in the house. £600 in 6 months! Paid for my hols that year!

I used to own 7 of them a few years ago,all given to me free,or picked up on freecycle, most of them I ended up breaking for parts,as they were worth more like that,as they are almost impossible to sell on ebay complete without a license.only one I have left now is an original italian job,as I like the theme and the sounds are great

That's the same cabinet as my mad money but it's waiting on some work being done as is lots of other stuff?

I can get folk playing fruities when they might make a few quid. But at home, when there is zero chance of winning anything ?

Similarly the "fun" casinos that folk lay on at events.

Each to their own. Nowt as queen as folk and all that.

9 out of 10 now worth more in parts as no license issues and parts can be posted. folks cant justify paying a courier to move sub£50 machines. the collectable games are mostly pre 1989 and then not all games.

anything but bloody DEAL OR NO DEAL!

just got my favourite fruit machine out of storage for some TLC

You've got 6 crystals!

Anybody remember any of the emptiers for them. Donkey Kong and Fairground spring to mind.

Yeah that used to work on the old ones, you could strim them too. Highly illegal like.

I've got to ask....I was never into fruit machines but my mates were and I'd quite fancy getting one as they're so cheap but....what is the attraction? I can barely understand it in a pub with a payout of other people's coinage. But when it's in your own home whats the point? Without the gambling element how do gamblers appeal?

Money box..... I saved £300 in a year without realising...

Yeah thats what I figured. Still kinda tempted. I only played one once. Although I've stood next to them while my mates played them hundreds of times. If I can pick one up for £50 I reckon I will.
