For some reason my topper fish is dead. Everything else in the game works, including the flasher behind the lure in the topper and the knocker which all share the same wiring loom

Does Fish Tales have an option to turn the topper off ? Like some games allow you to turn the knocker off ?

I ask before I start dismantling things.

Thank you

Mines done this before, it was a wire snapped off the solenoid connection at the topper itself.

They get quite a bit of vibration.

That was it. Thanks for the tip off. I had forgotten how noisy she is

^ Worthwhile putting heat shrink around the solder joint and let the heat shrink finish 10-20mm down the wire, helps stop the bending of the wire at the solder joint where it doesn’t flex particularly well.

^^^ thanks for the suggestion. I have seen a few solenoids in games with heat shrink or even hot glue on them over the years. Never understood why.

It didn't when the game first came out, as I found when asked by locations to turn it off - I took the coil return wire out of the connector for the topper, seeing this as the handiest, safest way to disable the fish.
