Finally, Pulp Fiction

Pondering buying - but Martin the Courier says beware door width issues. What would be the minimum door width needed to get this into my house?

Thank you

Finally unboxed my PFLE and got it up thanks to @Matt Adams for unwittingly helping me 😆
What an awesome game … love it
And can’t believe after all these years of pinball madness I have my two all time favourite movies in pinball form next to each other 🥰

Mad thing is my mate who was over today total non pinball player had a sesh today with a few beers and loved both , I asked him outright which did you prefer .
He absolutely preferred the blues brothers and when I told him price difference he was utterly amazed 😆

About to pickup a new PF. Is there a list of things to tweak to get it playing better? Seem to recall some people had issues so just trying to figure out in advance what i need to look out for. Also do i need cliffys or cols plastic protectors? Is it prone to damage?

Definitely worth picking up a set of SeikoKid protectors for the scoops.

Pops and gun magnet target might need a bit of tweaking to make them a bit more sensitive.

Set flipper power to somewhere around 185 and lower the trough eject power a bit.

Lockdown bar may be a bit loose for your liking, some people on pinside complaining about the receiver being a bit too high or something, but after adjusting the brass screws (like a B/W) mine seems just fine.

Brilliant, thank you.

Just unboxed PF. Seems to have an issue straight outta the box. Right flipper is staying up when pressed and only goes down when you turn the power off. Wiring looks ok and coil itself is obviously new. Before I go poking around, did anyone else have any flipper issues out of the box?

Mine did the same, it could be the button stuck in? Maybe try some silicone lubricant on the button. They are opto as Seiko said, so the button is just a spring and a housing.

Anyone had to replace the magnet fuse F118 ?
Thought at first I was just **** at making the shot but when I played the game at level yesterday made the shot at will so smelled a rat
Sure enough the fuse is blackened so will replace with one from the goodie bag .

No issues since I've had mine.

Mine just blew, I noticed the magnet wasn’t grabbing the ball.

Not had chance to replace yet but I understand the installed fuse was a fast blo and the goodie bag ones are slow blo. Can’t confirm yet

That looks like a fast blow fuse that was installed

But if the manual says 4a slow blow will try that

Hi folks

When I switched on PF this weekend all of the displays have stopped working!

I have looked inside the backbox and cannot see anything loose or disturbed. I pushed home / reseated all cables into the display boards but no change.

The lowest board (credit / BIP display) has a green LED indicating 12V supply, but none of the other score displays do.

When I unplugged the Upper Right ethernet cable (to controller board) in the splitter a red LED started on the Controller board, but not when unplugging the Upper Left ethernet cable (to display board).

As far as I can tell everything in the game else is still working and it plays ok.

Has this happened to anyone else, or any pointers where to continue looking would be appreciated please?
Thanks,

New opto to fix PF arrived today. Thanks @philpalmer for sorting that out. Finally got to play a few games on it and all I can say is WOW! First impressions - its REALLY, REALLY good. This machine doesn't belong to me and I will need to hand it back to the owner when he wants it, but after just a few games, I think I might have to buy one after this one leaves. Even the wife had a game and said I should buy one. Dont need much more encouragement to buy a pin than that. Its wife purchase approved level, therefore argument free :D

Just noticed the Big Kahuna LED for the multiplier sign at the rear has failed. Getting a new one sent out - very prompt response from CGC

Brilliant game, best purchase ever. I have however had a few minor issues the last few months.

One of the LEDs on the outlanes failed, a resistor was slightly raised and dry solder jointed so gave it a slight tweak with my iron. Fixed it fine.

The whole gimp entry banner lighting assembly worked itself loose and swung downwards, a single black screw had left its post.

Had to really lower the power of the VUK to the Briefcase Boogie lock channel as the balls were just bouncing over the lock post everytime and releasing back onto the playfield. If you get two balls in there now during a multiball then it's glass off time as the VUK will be too weak for two balls.

Found a nut wandering around the playfield one day and then discovered a couple of others in the rear of the base, they had all dropped off the bolts securing the speaker housing to the base. Now I had to take the head off the base to get the machine into the house but I'de followed the instructions as per the CGC video and took out the hinge bolts from the head which are completely unrelated. Certainly had no reason to touch these ones which had dropped into the cab.

If that speaker box had become fully detached then I'de have likely been a bit upset. I think there's either six or eight in total so I would have been okay for a while. Check your nuts and tighten them up!
