So I was chatting to John Romero the other day (Doom, Wolfenstein, Quake) and I was telling him about the pinball machines and arcade machines I've owned. He was big into pinball before he started writing games, that's pretty well documented. He's only owned two pinball machines and one arcade machine as far as I can gather. Although this is likely to be a difference between home and office machines, as I know he basically set up an arcade in the studio of Ion Storm. Not sure about that, will clarify with further chats.

So for the record John Romero, one of the most famous games designers of all time, has owned a Twilight Zone, Junkyard and Tekken 3 arcade

What other famous people's pinball choices do you know of?

Jack White (White Stripes) is a big pinhead and has a collection of Pat Lawlor games so assuming TAF and TZ? Jack Black also has TAF

Syd Owen from Eastenders had a Dirty Harry in his 9 bedroom French mansion. The Yorkshire Celebrity Auction House drove it back over and sold it. I remember cringing that they didn't fold the head down or take the legs off.

I always find it quite amusing that "celebs" that have plenty of money usually have a pinball machine. Was a sign of wealth at one point and to have one in your house was pretty cool I guess. Ironic that they cost about 8 times as much nowadays.

Jeremy Vine has an EM machine in his house and has put up a few vids with him and his kids playing it.

I know Jim Jeffries is also a huge pinball fan but have no idea what pins he personally owns.
His favourite was Spider Man.

Jason Sudeikis who plays 'Ted Lasso' has load of pins back home in the USA. You will find a Jersey Jack machine in series 2 and 3 of Ted Lasso as he wanted to give his friend Jack a bit of advertising! I dropped him a GnR to his UK place he was renting during the filming of last series. He loves the classic DMD Bally/Williams.

Roger Taylor from Queen had a few early SS and EM games, not sure if he has now. An old friend used to repair them.

Ozzy Osbourne has an Addams Family in his LA and UK homes.

I have been to a lot of famous peoples places over the last 25 years - but they generally do not want publicised what they own and you have to respect that.

As already pointed out on here - some bands ask for pinball machines to be installed in dressing rooms on tours. Metallica bring their own! They have massive flight cases made that transport them with the legs on and the backbox just gets dropped down.

Have had calls from people wanting machines for bands at the big venues in Birmingham but to be honest, it is too much hassle and they do not actually want to pay you anything apart from a pair of tickets.

Johnny Vaughan has a pinball machine in his house.

Interview on Ch4 this lunch

Here is a few more.....

A member of the rock band 'Dragon Force' is a member on this very forum. He has quite a few, but never met the guy.

Matt Lucas.

Micky Moody (ex-Whitesnake guitarist).

Brian Johnson from AC/DC.

Mark Hollis from Talk Talk bought a Spiderman I had to get up 3 flights of stairs and then he sold it back 2 years later with a thick layer of dust.

Plenty of footballers but I do not know who any of them are..........
