there has just been a tsunami of negative media recently. deficits, grenfell tower, the manchester concert bomb, folk questioning the efficacy of the judiciary, the rochdale grooming coverage on the bbc, north korea, russian hacking, acid attacks, every youth prison unfit for purpose, government teetering, northern ireland peace process at risk, outrageous financial demands from unelected eu bureaucrats, most public sector institutions claiming they are about to collapse ......
Yesterday we took our rescue dog out for a walk. We saw an injured barn owl (mercifully) trapped inside the rabbit proof fence at the village bowling green.
Within three hours two fellas turned up from Raptor Rescue, a small registered charity that I had never heard of run by unpaid volunteers that saves wounded birds of prey. The guys said that 50 per cent of the birds they rescue get rehabilitated and are then released back into the wild at the spot they were found. Even broken wings can be fixed
