F109 fuse blow

No.....no clues (remember that Not the 9 o'clock news gag in the hi fi shop ) got this email from a friend in Switzerland last night.

" Got a fuse burning in my tz when its up longer. First it glows, eventually it burns out, accompanied with a very bad smell.. "

I started a post then remembered that F109 protects the G.I, had a similar problem on a machine in the past which turned up with the same fault on arrival (some of the g.i was down), someone had shared the g.i circuits incorrectly between J120 and 121, resulting in the same blow (must have been after a pair of connector changes) the backbox g.i is pretty demanding if I remember correctly, any additional connectors to that block may cause an overload and blow, such was the case for me and the remedy was to rewire both blocks as in the handbook...voila

I forwarded this info but may be back for more if it is unrelated.
