Hi all,
I've finally got my getaway pin back home the other week after play expo. It all boots up and is playable....

However get a multiball and it keeps firing out any balls you loose. It does have its advantages though as we've got a 10 month old baby in the next room and I sit him on it and he loves watching the balls fly past, the lights, etc. I really should fix it though! as ever lasting multiball sort of ruins the game :/

As above as its in the next room to the baby I'm wondered if a switch had been stuck on, don't think one is though as I think I've narrowed it down to only happening when you have 2 balls locked.

This could be a slow fix due to nap time, but any ideas guys :)

TIA

- Ben

I had this exact same problem with a game once. Turned out to be a switch in the ball trough that was stuck on. Might be worth checking.

Maybe something to do with the ball saver never shutting off after starting multiball? Not sure what would cause that though.

My getaway occasionally did that. I was told it was a bug in the L-2 ROM (code ROM I presume?) and that L-5 ROM fixed it. But I never bothered swapping them, and I no longer own the machine, so I can't say that will fix it :) Might be worth a try if you can source/borrow a ROM and you're running L-2 and none of the above (and probably more accurate) answers fix it. Gee, I'm really selling this answer :)

Cheers guys. It did do it once before and a switch was stuck on but it did it permanently so as this is only on ball three I thought it maybe different, as also it had sat with the balls in it. After play expo it was stored without.
It is running on L-2 and I did get an eprom programmer for my birthday. Think I may give that a go as I've not written to any chips yet. Just read them. For the chip it maybe time for a Street Fighter 2 bootleg Jamma pcb to die.... (I've got a few for parts for my arcade stuff) will look into all the suggestions though.

Cheers guys

Hasn't happened whilst I've had it.

Don't install L-5, makes more problems than it solves.

When I say occasionally I mean maybe 4 or 5 times in 6 years! Unless you're playing 24hrs a day, I doubt you'll have seen it since you got it! :)

I guess it could be a sticky switch and with cleaning (both mine and yours) it's gone away. What makes you say L-5 is junk? Have you tried the one I shipped with the machine? (Just interested and it might help Ben)

It's still on L-2 I messed with the switches and all is good again :)

I was having a great game whilst "testing" got Red Light Mania on my first ball. Then did crap lol

Cheers guys

Just from reading what's on the net about it, it doesn't really fix anything from L-2, just what L-3 and L-4 broke.
