I have a Zac Ten Stars with a burnt out score motor coil (resistance only 1 Ohm, blowing fuse)
I have a spare from a swinging target, but different RPM.
Trying to split the gearbox to change the coil but don't think it can be done. Can anyone enlighten me if they have succeeded in doing this?
I could change the whole assembly, but output shaft would need drilling and fitting a roll pin.

easy enough to drill out the 4 brass rivets to get it apart, but how to fix it back together? a nut and bolt wont be flush, unless you glue a smaller nut into the hole on the side that you need to be flush and get (or cut) bolt to correct length needed. Maybe a bolt head that is a countersunk type head of the right size would fit quite flush in the hole on the side you need to be flush ?

To rebuild you could use some brass rod and fashion your own rivets with a hammer and punch, or use brass tube and splay the ends. A countersunk bolt defo sounds like the easiest option though.

Update (thanks to all so far)

Looks like the Zac gearbox has been split before.
Ideally just after a coil now, 24v, same as a Williams. Have hundreds of coils, but not this type.
