I've got way too many projects lined up so looking to move on my Eight Ball Deluxe. This is an original 1981 release that I bought at last years Play Expo with a view to doing it up but I'm not going to get round to it.

The game is fully working but have a look at the list of good and bad below as this is not a game I've restored:

Good bits
  • Backglass is in really nice shape
  • All of the displays work and are nice and bright
  • Altek MPU board
Bad bits
  • Cab was repainted by an operator back in the day
  • Some times (although not often) the game will reset. It's an old Bally so 99% sure it's connector related and an easy fix but it doesn't do it often enough for me to look at it
  • Plastics mostly good but the odd crack and chip here and there
  • Could do with some new return lanes as the plastics ones are a bit worn so you get a bit of flipper bounce
  • Playfield has been touched up in places. I'd say a reasonable job has been made of it. The main area of the pf is mylared so in good shape.
This game is a great restoration project if you wanted to go all out with cab re-stencilling etc which is what my original plan was or you could just play it as is. It's also a great candidate for someone looking for their first game to tinker with as a clean up, re-rubber, new return lanes and connectors and it'd be great. I'm asking £750 for the game :thumbs: A forum member already has 1st dibs and has been waiting for pics and info so it may go straight away but give me a shout if you're interested as after him it'll be first come, first served.

Would like to see how good/bad the playfield is etc. Happy to travel up at weekend for a viewing

In this particular case the person who had first dibs took the game so even having alerts setup wouldn't have helped.

I had a Blackout painted the same way a year or so ago.....and now I've got an EBD, as it was me who had Chris's! :) The stencils are available in the states so at some point it will be back to its proper livery.

Now it's just Embryon I need to complete the '81 Bally collection..... :rolleyes:
 
Andy, if you're going to re stencil it anyway it might be worth trying to strip that paint back to reveal the artwork.

There's a method here which although labour intensive may work

Hmmm I hadn't even thought about stripping it....thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look!!!
