Just a quicky, my Family Guy DMD is off to PH hopefully to be repaired, mean while my IJ (wms) has a board off for repair, so I want to put the IJ dmd across into FG. Both accept the same ribbon cable but the IJ has a power molex with 6 or so wires into it where as FG has just 2, a red and black. Questions.....

1. Why so many feeds into IJ if its just power on one feed and info on the ribbon cable?

2. Can I make the IJ dmd work on FG?

Thanks in advance.....

Is one plasma, and the other LED??? You should be able to tell by looking at them - Plasma is like one big grid, In in LED one you can usually make out the multiple smaller segments that all go together to make up the one large DMD...

I think ij is plasma and Im pretty certain fg was led... does that make it a non starter.. ?

Is it the case that a replacement dmd like the ones at PH are led and backward compatible ie a HV led replaces a plasma but newer machines take the LV led dmds only?

Bump! Tinkering tomorrow and keen to get FG playable if poss.....will post a free gift to whoever helps me get my IJ dmd into FG...

I'm sure someone will chime in to confirm. I think that the UK sterns use led dmd's and lack the high voltage part of the dmd board to drive a plasma.

I have a original Stern DMD for sale.
Taken from a Spiderman, fully working in excellent condition, £110 + whatever it costs to send.
