DMD problem

I recently removed a ColorDMD from a Roadshow and put back a regular DMD, and the display started suffering snow/flickering around the images. So I pulled out the DMD and put the ColorDMD back, and now that is suffering in the same way:

I've reseated / waggled the DMD ribbon cable, and even swapped it for a known good one (although the know good one doesn't have the iron ring thingy at one end like the original) but still no joy. This problem only started when I removed the colorDMD the first time.

Any suggestions what to try next! Cheers.

Try re-seating both ends of the ribbon, and also re-routing the cables if possible.... Looks like interference
