My DMD missing the last column of dots on the right. Does this mean the DMD is faulty and needs replacing or could the issue be caused by anything else?

Sounds like a faulty DMD to me. Could try and reseat all the ribon cables and see what happens, but I think that just scrambles the image when not seated correct? :hmm:

I had this with my Flintstones machine. The metal pin to that column had snapped off at the glass :( I managed to fix it tho, there wasn't enough metal to solder it so I got some silver conductive paint from maplin, painted a strip over the pin on the glass (about 10 layers) then bent the pin to touch this silver strip. I then painted the silver paint over the pin and it wicked into the gap similar to solder. Covered this with epoxy to stop it breaking off and now it works a charm!

Happened on my old Flintstones too. It was only really noticeable when I was in the menus. Very few of the animations used the last column so it didn't really bother me.

yup, this. If not enough of the snapped off bit ya may need to dremmel a bit of the glass off around the snapped point
