I need a MUR115 diode which is 150v 1a.
I have some 250v 2a diodes. Will these be acceptable as i believe the 150v is the max it will take,so 250v
and above with a greater amps value should be ok. Or not?

Yes, paddy,

The voltage stated with (normal) diodes is usually the Peak Inverse Voltage (PIV), the maximum it can withstand in the non-conducting direction, i.e. when 'blocking'. The current given is the maximum it can carry when conducting.
