Realised this last weekend that although I'd rate my soldering skills as acceptable, my DE soldering skills are.. weak at best. After removing a component I really struggled to clean the hole out for the replacement part. In the past I've coped with this by reflowing some new solder in, then sucking the lot out. Or placing the pump at one side, iron at the other. But this weekend nothing I could do would clean that b***ard hole out.
So after looking around I'm now toying with buying an uber expensive Hakko 808 to help me out. Anyone have any experience with this, have one for sale, recommend an alternative?
Thanks!
