After much hand-wringing I've decided to put my AFM up for sale. I'll post some pics soon, but for those that don't know it, the machine is pretty much like new. I would say it's one of the nicest AFM's in the UK.
New playfield, new ramps, new cabinet decals, new saucer, new Pinbits strobe, new NOS saucers, shaker motor, new plastics, new rubbers, new targets, all guides, screws and is polished and it has chrome trim and lockdown bar and mirror blades. There's probably loads I've forgot but I'll update tonight if I think of anything else.
anyone interested is welcome to come and play it but I'm looking for a quick sale before I change my mind.

£5250.

I can't believe it!! Never thought I'd see the day.

For anyone that is interested in this, I have seen it and it is stunning. Better than new!

I have played this machine and know Steve's machines, it is the nicest AFM I have seen. Steve is a perfectionist/artist and it shows in this.
It had invisible-glass on it when I saw it and I head butted the glass whilst looking at how good the playfield was because I didn't see it was there.

Now why the hell are you selling it?? ;)

Is this the way pinball is going? Where the machine condition is more important than the play of it?

Ie the classic car syndrome, where cars are mearly looked at and rarely used.

Everyone on here should know that AFM is a great game to play, most buyers need to know condition to determine a price surely?

I think that something of that nature is going to be inevitable as machines get older and older and replacement parts get harder and harder to source and as a consequence pinballs become more like precious antiques (that you can't risk actually playing in case something irreplacable breaks) than the machines of fun they are now. Hopefully that point will be reached well into the future though.

Most of the people commenting here however seem to have said how great it looked when they last played it, so I'm seeing the earlier comments as people assuming everyone knows AFM is a great game to play, so their comments instead focus on the fact that it also happens to be in awesome condition as well.

Maybe, I just struggle with the concept of a game costing 5k. For me, pinball is to be played and enjoyed, not polished and invested in.

I'm just voicing my opinion like others have on it's condition.

Ie counteracting the 'it's mint' with 'I dont think I could spend 5k on a pinball machine'

Not sure I am now! I'm lost without a project in the garage and need to make a space for another machine, one had to go and AFM drew the short straw.

Dude, are you completely out of space? Applying the number one rule of pinball, you only need to sell when you already have one more game than space to keep them in. I'm sure you could squeeze another game in somewhere without having to sell AFM.....problem solved ;) :D

Bump.

Time for a machine shuffle and move a few machines on, so my AFM is back on the market.

Everyone knows I like working on them more than playing so this needs to go to someone who will give it some use as it's not been switched on for months.

Machine is basically like new as stated above, works perfectly and needs nothing. I hate the word 'mint' but I'm sticking my neck out with this as it is mint!

Steve - I presume that as per title this is sold pending collection?? I only ask as there's someone looking for a minty AFM on the yahoo Group. I have pointed him in your direction just in case...

Cheers
Paul
