Slight improvement. Put the original game rom chip in rather than the new one i had bought and I now have game audio when i start the game. I hadn't really researched the new game rom chip and figured it was just a case of swapping that over and that was all it needed but now thinking thats not enough and i need sound roms too. Not bothered about that for now though. Will look into it later. Just need to figure out why the playfield isn't springing into life.
Nahh. Most sound files are sat on P1/L1 release - usually sound is only updated when additional stuff is added (Such as profanity sound roms), so in about 99% of cases the sound stays the same.
Playfield lights etc are all driven from the CPU via the Driver board... Double check the ribon between the two.
What do the status lights say on the CPU (Tells you what stage it is in booting), and are you getting the voltage lights on the Power driver board (because if you arent then that will be why!)?
