DE Hook - Right Bank Bottom Target #35

I was checking over the game-play/switch matrix on Hook today and I noticed that at the start of a game when any switch is activated then the Right Bank Bottom Target is Lit straightaway, seemingly activated by any switch on the playfield.

I haven't overly investigated yet but having subsequently watched a couple of youtube videos of Hook gameplay they do exactly the same.

Is this normal?

Ooops, sorry I missed that one.

The answer is Yes, sort of. It doesn't light until the ball 1 is launched, then it lights straight away. Hook gives you a light towards your first multi-ball for each ball launched.

Thanks. That's what I'm noticing, how are you supposed to know that, it looked like a lamp/switch problem to me? On mine, the 9 multiball target banks remain lit between balls, is that an option? It doesn't help that the game options page is scrunched in the pdf manual.

I only "know" that because that's what mine has always done - it's much easier to spot the 9 targets for first multi-ball, Top Left VUK spots a target for each hit too, but only for 1st multi-ball.

The 9 targets stay spotted between balls, they don't reset. As far as I know there's no option to change that.

What page is scrunched? I downloaded my manual from IPDB.org and it's all there I think.

It must be right then, I've seen 3 Hooks on You Tube videos that play the same as yours - glad I researched as it appeared wrong to me and I would have waded in with the DMM and Logic Probe. So do they reset after multi-ball?

So it does, mine too! Those adjustments are easy to understand from the DMD though - lots of Hi-Score stuff / balls per game etc.
