Hey you lovely DE wizards out there I wonder if you can help?
Although I’ve had several DE pins over the years I’ve never had to work on their boards (lucky I guess) Anyhoo for good or bad I bought the problematic R&B off my mate Andy which was mentioned on another thread with videos if interested.
So the problem is the fact it takes around 7-8 mins to warm up before booting then everything seems fine, you can even switch it back on and off and it instantly fire up. However leave it for a while say 10mins and we back to square one with the slow boot.
Someone mentioned replacing the caps on the power board so would these be the items in question which sound uprated slightly and available on eBay or is it something I can grab online starting maybe with just the caps or while on should I change the bridge too.

TBH I am struggling to do anything ATM with this broken arm and I think my body doesn’t like the plate and screws in there as it’s giving me hell so project pins should be the last thing in my life ATM.
After sorting this I may just sell on as a project to recoup the money and be done on here or eBay if no interest.

Any help appreciated Thanks in advance.

If I remenber right! there is a small cap near the bottom of the heasink that's prone to fail, it affects the 5v rail

Yes, its 100uf 25v, and it often leaks, so be careful to clean up around it, and check for damaged tracks. This is the most common cap failure on this board and kills the 5V

Thanks all I have a cap on the way from @AlanJ that I will hopefully fit as soon as it arrives using a Phil’s informative video. 🤞
