The volume control on my Tommy has been getting worse - really flaky when adjusting ...crackles, pops, drops out sometimes.

Is it worth trying to clean it up or just replace ?

I'm thinking replace.

I see them in US, any suppliers here with them ? Haven't searched a great deal yet :D Or if anyone has a new one to sell by chance ?

If it's a carbon one, just clean it - They crackle like a git when they get dusty and not used for a while....

Just shove some switch cleaner in there and that should do the trick :)

do NOT use WD40 as that'll **** it up royally :D

no - the track in the pot....

Just squirt some switch cleaner in there, and turn it right up, down, up, down, up...... whilst the machine is off of course... leave 5 mins for the excess to evaporate and then switch back on and adjust to suit :)

It's caused by dust on the track - simple thing. You should be ok for another few years now - unless you are using in a dusty environment.... wait.... :D
