I picked up this Creech locally last week. It was a dirty Creech but seemed to be quite fresh for a 30 year machine.
All original boards, no hacks.
No operator asset tags engraving. Incandescent lamps, brittle rubbers.
My gut feel this is a home use machine even though it's origins stem from the early 1990s.
It's not had a hard life.
Though dirty, once a cleaner is applied the PF is like new.
It's like finding a barn find but the barn had comfort cooling.
So I have changed the 2008 batteries and all is fine.
Note a bank of back box GIs are out and mid PF GIs are out I think Q10 is suspect.
Ordered Comets and rubbers. And once they are changed out it will play fine.
I just then need to add a cliffy. Colour DMD, Snack Bar mod is mandatory.. side blades also. I don't intend to powder coat this one due to it exceptional condition.
I'm kinda convinced this one has never been sited by an operator due to its condition.

Pin2dmd with Slippifish's colour file is mandatory. Colordmds version isn't as good and much more expensive!

I noticed the little things, like on the pin2dmd version the 3d glasses on every KISS animation are coloured correctly whereas on colordmd only one lens is done. If paying nearly double you'd think they'd get the aesthetic right

Actually that kiss capture is from version 1, which was overall pretty rubbish compared to version 2, though apparently I swapped the lenses:



I'm sure I read on a pinside post that when challenged about the glasses, ColorDMD said they were obliged to do it the way they did.

Anyway back on topic, whichever colour display you choose I am sure your Creech will look all the better for it; I have yet to ever play one in person.

My last one had a Pin2dmd and it looked great so to be honest I'll be going down that route.

I have a pin2dmd with slippfishi's colourization cost me 1/3 the price of a colour DMD and I frickin' love it.

All cleaned up, green rubber and purple posts and Comets.
I am going to leave the original flashers in and cleaned them up.
Cleaned a very dusty mirror and hologram. Creech is now half blue, half green.
As usual I did not order enough Comets as I took the quantity off Pinball Center lighting sheet which don't include GI lights.
As usual I did not order enough Titans as I took the quantity off there customer data base.
So I have to drop an order into @David retro to top up said items later this week when pay day hits.
Replaced a couple of chase lamps that @philpalmer has stock of still thankfully.

I've sold some DMDs so I'll order a pin2dmd from Retro City based on the other side of the world as that seems to be the most economic route at the mo.
Snack bar Cliffy needed at some point then the rest is comestic and just personal choice extras.
Mid higher GI and mid backboard GI are out and that's likely to be Q10 out. That's the one with a chunky heat sink bolted to it. As I am beyond terrible at soldering I'll have to see who can do that for me at some point.
I'll clean the legs up this week with Pink Stuff to see how that goes as a product.

We used pink stuff on a reccomendation to clean our Creech pf and it was wonderful!
