Wasn't planning on another restoration but here we go again 😆.

Game arrived partly assembled onto a new playfield. The rest was up to me to finish the puzzle so to speak.

I spent time going back through the harness checking for loose wires and adding in the harness brackets, loose coils, switches and bulbs holders.

The next step was the usual hole prep on the top side.

Post installation and ball guide installation.

I didn't document any of this photo wise as unfortunately time pressures meant I just focused on the work when I could.

This game came with new rails done by Ant, but they needed drilling. Thankfully I've got sone padded G clamps to hold the rails down. Lining them up took some effort making sure it was in the correct position and alignment.

I'll update more tomorrow!

I have loads of pics from when I stripped mine down completely and happy to take more now rebuilt if you need them. Just ask!

Thanks for the kind offer. I'm using the ones I took from my first creech restore.

So once the rails were in place I started progressing with post installs and ball guides. I normally do these first as there's less to get in the way but as the game came semi populated they get done now instead.

Next up I progressed the top side further.

Old star posts were toast so they were replaced.

This games got a purple theme going on, more on that later.

Game has a rather unique powder coat. Here's a sneak peak.

Game features the nude artwork hopefully ok to show?

Most of the top side is complete but I'm waiting on a few fasteners and screws to finish the job

Interesting choice of colours for Creech. Not seen that nude playfield. Will be stunning when finished. Are you fitting bulbs to the pops. Hope you have a working Creech!

Next up the cab. It really needed repair and just didn't feel right putting new rails on some tattered water damaged cab.

PXL_20251102_110824744.webp

Game has severe rusting in the corners, base shows signs of water damage.

Some bolts wouldn't come out without heavy lubricant and persuasion!

The tiny crappy leg plates had to go. I have zero faith in these things. One was badly bent.

The exterior didn't fair much better. The corners on the top side is rough.

Also yumm.. gum....

The artwork was PL but had a few gouges here and there. Usual leg area damage.

Sanding was a bit of race against time due to the shorter winter days.

Second coat primer down, black over spray and then onto first coat interior cabinet.

Good progress! Why not spray the whole side black? Would be concerned about the brighter parts shining through?

Done about 30 games this way. Honestly it makes no difference. It's just a waste of black.

Ok, made a difference with Radcals if you ever use them.
Oh wow really? Aren't they the thick acrylic type? I would have thought the exact opposite with those.

I thought the whole point of radcals was less preparation, not more given the thickness.

All the last 3 cabs I've done in the past few months have had the same method. No issues.

They are essentially laminated prints. Very easy to handle as you pretty much can’t create bubbles and precut to size. But somewhat transparent at the same time (an existing decal would shine through).

Ah good to know. Thanks I'll likely avoid em to be honest.

Backbox stripped back, repaired and primed.

One side feels slightly sunk, going to see what I can do.

Not much progress today, had to spend a few hours figuring out a hacked harness.

Had to repin the headers as they were pretty hacked too.

Spent the morning prepping and cleaning the area.

Nearing the finish line. Just waiting on the decals to arrive to proceed.

One pleasant suprise is that the hologram is green! The game was covered in soot, grime and rust, so it was really surprising.

PXL_20251109_131410552.webp

The line in box was caked in rust. I've cleaned it up as best I could.

Cabinet braiding installed.

There was originally an AC adapter in the cabinet powering a HD Pin2dmd. I wasn't happy with the wiring as the ground wasn't hooked up and the adapter was free floating in the cab. I don't want the owner having a fire hazard so I've ran a dedicated ground and I'll be replacing the Laptop adapter with a dedicated 12v mounted PSU.

PXL_20251109_192037627.webp

PXL_20251109_192045619.webp

For now I've ran the additional wires for the PSU.

Dedicated 12v PSU added. I 3D printed some brackets to secure it to the cabinet.
