I want to create a public website for the community cinema I am setting up in my village. This is to help us market the thing outside of our village to help draw in a wider audience.

I am on facebook (I just as an address book really) but do not really use or understand it. And I really don't like that it goes viral/ posts seem permanent.

I have never set up a website before. Do you just use Go Daddy or one of those things ?

What is the best way of setting up a rudimentary website please ? Literally a couple of photos, contact details, forthcoming film listings, link to a map, link to the movies' websites, link to a paypal payment page etc .....

This community cinema is not for profit, so I need to avoid having to pay much in terms of fees and also being ransomed in two years time when a "free" service today gets a rent attached to it

thanks

Thanks Chris

Is there a cheaper way ? That website builder looks beautiful - but I am just after a really rudimentary and cheap one

I'd probably recommend Wordpress. You can get something basic for free, and it's enormously powerful if you want to do complicated stuff, yet relatively easy to get started with the basics. I've used Wordpress to do the last few iterations of the sites we use for the NLP and 8bitflip.

Also think sites.google.com gives u a free builder platform that should be good seo-wise
