So I have started to strip down congo even though its dirty this is the cleanest machine I’ve shopped ha. The Playfield is immaculate I would of thought it’s not had a very hard life the only bit of wear I’ve found is a tiny bit around the pops. All the metal posts had a lil corrosion so will be going in the tumbler.

Found a few of these which I think are just cracks in the clear all in hidden areas which is good

Hey mate would you be able to explain the kit/attachments etc you use to do the regraining and polishing with your bench polisher please? Those guides look great.

It’s just a scotch brite medium web wheel and a extra fine wheel followed by the normal polishing wheels. Use the medium grain to get rid of the ball marks making sure to always go along the grain. Then finish with the fine, then polish

That's what I've been using, but attached to my drill, which doesn't really give me the rpms. Does your polisher have a chuck attachment?

So I thought while it’s out I’d give the grey gorilla a quick repaint as it looks nowt like the grey gorillas it has hardly any grey on it! Just some light dry brushing of greys and a mouth repaint and made the boils look more real.

Dude that is soo good. I bet you used to paint miniatures as a kid yeah? 😀

That’s the top side pretty much done just the flipper rubbers and apron to go on.

Quick question as my memory sucks should the flippers be in line with the back of the lane guides (as I have done) or the front or does it not matter? I can’t remember what I normally do

I tend to line them up with the front edge (farthest from the player) of the metal lane guides and ignore the tiny holes.

I tend to do the same and ignore the holes too. I find that the ball rolls through the lanes and onto the flippers a lot smoother as the angle more or less stays the same. Plus it makes the flipper gap smaller which with my crappy playing is always a good thing 😂

Surely that would only be a problem in situations where you are so slow to react you don't engage a flipper? 😃
