Isn't the whole thing on your property though? By rights your neighbour should have only cut whatever was overhanging their property. It looks ridiculous now, worse than if it hadn't been trimmed.

Why have they shaved the stuff on your side?? Legally only allowed to chop back anything overhanging the fence... (and then has to throw the trimmings back!)
