coin mech question

I never use coin mechs but I've got someone who wants to buy a machine off me to site. As such he wants a coin mech in it. As luck would have it I opened the door and there's already one in there.

I've taken it off free play and checked it's on UK coin settings in the menu mode but as soon as you put any coins into the slot it then rejects them straight out again.

Is this probably mechanical or electrical? Everything looks like it's there and I know the machine used to be on site, so what am I overlooking? Should I be looking at the mechanism or the wires that go into it initially?

Thanks in advance

John

What sort of mech ? Needs electrical supply. Then it needs the coin slots enabled, usually with dip switches on a satellite board or the coin door interface board. But details of machine and mech type required.

Oh the shame of being mocked by Dan.

Won't get another chance to look until tonight. Hopefully it might just be a case of reconnecting the power lead to it.

No idea what the mech is but it's installed in Batman Forever. There is a small board next to it. It says the dip switches need to be on and then lists which coins it accepts.
