Coil refurbishment

Ok, so Rocky and Bullwinkle is starting to finally get rebuilt. I've got a tonne of bits being tumbled at the moment so whilst waiting I decided to get replacement wrappers sorted out for the coils.

Of course that inevitably raises the questions - what else should I be doing to refurbish the coils?

Is there anything I should be doing to get them all minty fresh before reapplying the wrappers? And has anyone got any advice on applying them?

For now i've printed them on some adhesive backed paper but I seem to recall last time I tried applying this way it was a pain in the ****. I'm thinking I might be better to just trim a section off the backing from the end so the wrapper actually can be spun around the coil with just the end being overlayed to hold it in place.

Recommendations, suggestions and rude comments are welcomed.
