Hello friends,
One of today's mission's was to replace the center lane unit coil on my Bally Knockout. When I bought it, I noticed that this coil had spewed molten plastic out of it. Testing the coil with my multi-meter showed the coil hadn't failed, but advice from friends on here pointed out that it was not the correct/original coil, so I bought a couple of NOS ones after checking my schematics.
Incorrect coil with plastic spew:
Here is the new, and correct coil (I got a spare as it was from USA, so saved postage, good to have a spare while I'm ordering):
Annoyingly, when I unscrewed the coil butt (sorry if this is the wrong name), the part which the 2 screws go through it fell apart! I guess it was either age, or had been put back broken in it's previous life and held in place by the screws, or just failed when I unscrewed it:
So, I'm a little frustrated as I have successfully de-soldered the old coil and soldered the new one now. I can't proceed and won't bodge this bracket, coil butt thing in to place. I would like to replace it.
So here's my question. Are these parts propitiatory to the machine? Or are they a reasonably standard part?
If possible I would like to source a new part from the UK, rather than have to hunt one out from the states, wait for it to arrive, then pay import taxes, as that process is frustrating.
I've measured it as best as possible:
22mm x 25mm x 13mm (this is the broken bit with the 2 screw holes in it). The 'butt' part is about 6mm.
Please allow +/- 1mm as my measuring skills aren't the best.
Can a kind soul give me some advice and point me at a uk supplier where I can get this item from, so I can continue my works?
Cheers,
Johnny
