CNC Design Help Needed

I'v asked Docker to transfer my V pin into a smaller cabinet. We found the one at arcadeworld , well this is the only one we could find. They can make it without the button holes but discussing this further would be nice if the cabinet was able to house the flipper buttons more effectively as they appear to be fairly low down from the hand rest area

Overall length trying to keep under 1m. Also the width of all available 32" screens are substantially narrower and shorter than the cabinet dims so making it a touch narrower would be ideal too. If a lockdown bar of some description can be fabricated or shortened this too would be handy and made to fit

Also a smaller coin door would be handy to have

I have no skills or experience in CAD, or CNC etc so reaching out to see if someone here does and could assist ?

What is it you are looking to do, sketch out the design and dimensions you want on paper and have someone transfer/model it in cad for you?

Or someone to design it from scratch?

Then have it CNC'd in the UK?
 
I found this with DIMS. again prob need to lengthen the cabinet slightly so I can fit a lock down type bar and fit the buttons below that . Its somewhat difficult not having anything to hand to check out and sample

Why CAD/CNC? unless you are going to make a batch?
If theres a local (amenable) kitchen manufacturer they would cut all of the parts out on a sliding bench saw for a one off.
They may also have plywood offcuts which would keep costs down.

If you have a rough idea on overall dims it's a good starting point. in fact if you could supply the tv /monitor to them they would
cut/build it to fit.

Once you have the cabinet built you can decide on button placement and have the coin door cut out.

As CAD guy I would say unless you supply very detailed information on the equipment which is going to be fitted you'll find
the end result will need to be modified/fettled anyway.

Some of the guys on here will have an old lockbar. cut a section out of the middle to shorten. weld and buff. either get it powder coated
or diy spray.

yeah said the same. For a one of easier and quicker to just bosh it out in the garage. All the panels of a cab are basic geometry so cad/cnc is overkill for a one off.
 
Thanks @paulg100 for the helpful call. Yes it makes sense now it's been explained to just cut them out myself which I can do easily. Just need to check the flipper button positions against the flipper bat positions to try and keep it inline with a realistic layout. Will keep you posted as I progress

Just a question about which wood to use ? 18mm MDF or 18mm Marine Ply? or something else? would like to decal it afterwards prob with vinyl stickers
 
use ply if the cost is manageable. MDF weighs a ton and dosent hold screws as well and edges damage easier.

Plus if your cutting the panels your self MDF is horrid for dust. The only thing it has going for it is theres a bit less prep when painting decaling but plywood all the way for me.
 
B&Q used to do a cutting service in larger stores, i assume they still do, ideally go during the week when its not busy otherwise they might scoff a bit at the number of cuts.

Lay the panels out on paper to see what will fit on an 8x4 sheet of ply and they will do most of the cutting. Theres files online with standard cab dimensions all laid out if you google around.

Their ply isnt the best (firmly in B grade) but plenty good enough for a vpin.
