Hi,

Once i have fully stripped down my play field on my corvette, im wanting to sand the back of the playfield to bring the wood back up and possibly re-coat the front.

Now i'm not sure im confident enough to do the front myself, so is there anyone on here that would clearcoat the front for me?

Dunc

Not sure but if you've done the prep take it to your local car body shop and ask them to do it for you next time they're doing clear coating

Good idea. I didn't know if there was anyone on here that does it on the side for cash? But i'll deffo give the bodyshops a shout!

Yeah i have thought of doing it myself with rattle cans RudeDogg1. I just want to make sure i get a good finish.

I'm used to spraying with rattle cans, i do alot of car resto/projects. Would i need to lightly sand the surface of the playfield? Or just degrease and dry off before spraying?

U do need to lightly sand it, you can get a decent finish with rattle cans. If I ever do it again tho I think I'll use 2 part and a spray gun

Ive done it with rattle cans and it worked a treat - see my FT shop log on here

Cheers Kev

Bit nervous to use rattle-cans on my new RW playfield... still hoping a mate can get it sorted, cough, cough @replicas , cough cough.... :D

Bugger it! Gonna have a go myself! Newdos I've seen ur restos and uve given me the bug! Should be alright to have a go clearcoating myself!

go for it!!! - obviously if you can get a ceramic clearcoat done in a spray shop that will be better, but I was pleased with the outcome of mine

Cheers Kev

Will have a go myself first. It's always rewarding knowing you did most things! Cheers matey!

Good lock Dunc and post before and after pics. just make sure no dust around at all and if you do get some in it let it harden and flatten off again with sandpaper and recoat

Cheers man.

What grade sandpaper did you use when sanding the playfield before you applied the clearcoat?
