Cleaning the back of Playfield inserts

Any tips of the best / easiest way of cleaning the back of playfield inserts?

Before using any "wet product" try a dry paint brush and a can of air (like you'd use for cleaning a keyboard). Works a treat in getting most of the carbon dust out.
You also don't end up having to spend all your time trying to get the resultant wet paste out of the cracks and ridges in the insert

I prefer to use my tounge and give them a good licking.. safest way in my honest opinion
