Cheap Adams Family on Craigslist

99.9% scam - Criagslist isn't worth bothering with.

Stick to sales on here and you'll get what you pay for.

apologies if its really that bad, cant say I have ever bought anything from an ad on there, just thought it was worth pointing out.

No need to apologise, we were just pointing out that, generally on the UK Craigslist - if it's too good to be true, then it usually isn't.

In the past 6 months I doubt that there has been a single legitimate pinball on this site. The same ones just sit there, offered at seemingly cheap prices, month after month.

Everyone who can use a computer has heard of ebay, so it makes no sense to have a legit game unsold on Craigs list

Extreme caution required.

Yep I got scammed 2k for a TSPP a while back

Police did nothing

That's the world we live in

Well, I working my ass off touring away for 2 months as a jazz musician on the QM2 to earn a bit over 2.2k and TSPP is my fav pin of all time and is the pin that got me into pinball really, I looked for a while and couldn't find any, and if I did they were 3.5k+ And I couldn't afford,
at the time those sterns had a higher value, when I was away touring and studying in Ferrara Italy I found one of craigslist for 2k
I was relatively new to the pin world and was too trusting and didn't have a community to advise me and even Freinds like matt Vince may have told me otherwise but I was stubborn bugger and too excited for the game to notice the plot holes in the sale.
I communicated with the seller via email for a week and I looked past his bad Engrish and weird story of him working on an oil rig so couldn't send me a video etc
And he said it would be 2k including delivery, I had bought two pins before this one and the sales went fine and weren't too different sounding to this one however this one WAS on Craigslist and not from eBay or the pin community and I think somehow the other two pins were, as games nowadays are just recycled in a circle around the UK ha

So I sent 2k and then never heard from him

The police did nothing and a fraud agency confirmed I had been conned but also did nothing about it except for confirming I had been conned and removing the ad from Craigslist so that nobody else got conned. Whoopdy do for them
I took the punt for other TSPP lovers.

If I actually made money I would be okay with and move on
But as a jazz musician we don't really make good money unless it's very long contracts like I did
and I took a devastating hit for it

There you are - thanks for the interest

Jesus. Just goes to show people still fall for these scams :(

That really sucks @Harry Bolt. I detest scammers they are total scum that play on the good nature of others. I nearly fell for a 2k MM on ebay that had moved to emails but when the bidding had gone over the 2k they asked for by bank transfer they were still going to sell to me! That got the alarm bells ringing! I hope you find your TSPP after a particularly successful tour.

Thanks very much! Appreciate it and im glad you got away from your potential scammer

I was following the bargains on CL when I was looking, and enquired about one. On closer inspection I noticed that in the ad it was plugged in to the wall and it was not a UK plug socket, I assume it was American 2-pin, despite the ad saying it was in Aberdeen. I bolted at that point but it was just good fortune I saw it. I was never going to wire money and wait for delivery but thinking back I can only imagine what may have happened if I had turn up to collect with 2K in my pocket.

That's a totally gutting story @Harry Bolt , I'm crossing my fingers for a little karma both for you and the scumbags that ripped you off. I hope you find the pin of your dreams TSPP sometime in the future.

Sorry to hear you got scammed. I assume they also list hundreds of other items each week eg guitars etc to cover as many bases as possible.
Just had my card cloned this week and although the credit card company caught it pretty quickly there's **** al chance that they will catch the scum bags who did it

This is very **** @Harry Bolt, I can't imagine how bad that must feel. It's little consolation, but at least if you buy off here from peeps with plenty of posts you will be safe. Not sure if you'd mind, but s summary of this story would be a good sticky in the for sale section to at least help make sure no-one else on here gets scammed too. :(

I wonder why he has what appears to be a North American or European double plug socket in his house? Seems to be a wire sticking out of it too...

There are a lot of cnuts out there, missus just got scammed for 2 festival number 6 tickets to the value of £280 on Gumtree (told her not to do it because it stank but there you go), many of us have been scammed and the feds nor fraud squad do nothing, seems like a good way to make money if you are that way inclined as you will get away with it as no one seems to give a 5hit, such is the way of the world, hopefully karma will prevail and these scourge will feel the chill.

great spot with the plug,,, just contact the seller saying you will bring a van up to collect and pay in cash, and wait for all the excuses or no reply at all
