No Longer Available Champion Pub

Pretty sure I have bought things off them before , are they near Leeds ? Think it was a Cocktail table with a Jamma board. Might of also bought a couple of Fruit Machines years ago. Price looks high but colour DMD , some leds and of course being a business the dreaded vat no doubt

I bought a Ripleys on ebay from them quite a while back but they were under a different name. Anyway after a long drive from East Kilbride to Pontefract i found it was a different machine from the photos with numerous faults. Not saying the Champion Pub is anything other than described as Lee has had some outstanding machines but i too think it`s too expensive and i love the game. Just my opinion.

from memory it had the following

recon cab with new decals
colour dmd
convolux
full leds
boxing glove topper
mirror blades
Speaker lights
think when i bought it the previous owner fitted a nos playfield but its mint either way
Chris b did a full workshop on it for me as well about 12 months ago

it might be expensive but it depends on what your looking for personally id rather pay more for a good quality pin rather than a overpriced ****ter

cant comment on arcade warehouse / Williams quality but i do know this pin is a nice 1 :)

Very good - thoroughly enjoyed that. Not a machine I've seen or played. but one I've wondered about and that's given me a good feel for what it offers. Thank you!
 
@Gonzo - credit where it is due mate, that is a really nicely shot video. You need me on it as well to make you look better :)

What you said at the end is very interesting about people like playing it....

One Christmas my line up was Medieval Madness, Monster Bash, Cirqus Voltaire and Striker Xtreme by Stern.

As my brother in law and kids loved football - I had the choice of MM, MB and CV all night. The family played on an awful £300 *those were the days* Striker Xtreme I bought of Mr Pagget, that I took half the inserts off trying to lift the awful mylar.

Just goes to show that most people do not know a thing about how good a pinball is.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I've only had 3 brief games on Fish Tales but I suspect that would also be of interest to first time players.

Also - as a constuctive comment - I really like the angle you shot the game play. I hate the usual streaming overhead camera, does not give you a real feel for the game, like the awful deeproot 'launch' where a few people talked over some awful games. Would be good to see the DMD in one corner as a PIP.

I would probably say a game streamed from those viewpoints look better to me. Good to see thinking outside the box @Gonzo .

Thanks mate, I appreciate the feedback. I just think that a two dimensional image is better when you're dealing with ramps. It was crucial when showing games like AIQ because the ramps are so inclined that an overhead 1D shot really doesn't do it justice.

For streaming it's different I guess because most people watching will know the game. If a ball disappears under a ramp then your brain will fill in the blanks.

For an edited video it's much better to show where the ball has gone if you can because you have the luxury of multiple cameras.

I want to archive as many games as possible which is great fun because I'm playing so many different titles.


Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread. I just thought it was the best place for a CP video. Great game.
 
played it at a convention several times, i really liked it not so much a pinball game more a parlour game that is pinball themed. great fun tho
