I bought this Creech back in March and one of the issues was it wouldnt always boot ,

owner said it used to be 100% but now would take an hour to come on!

Anyways I bought it and when I got it home I somehow figured out that if I removed these flashers (not my machine btw)

the game would boot 100% of the time every time.
Afair if I even put one flasher in (known good) it will not boot.
I do think that if I boot the game with out them, then put them the flashers work as normal .

5v I think?
If I was shotgunning it I'd start with the mosfets, but they shouldnt affect the 5v ?
going to tackle it this coming weekend .
Any ideas welcome !

Thanks

Probably caused by one of the flasher drive chips on the driver board...

74LS374 or 7474/LM339 (depends which route it takes).

Actually having had a quick look at the manual it wouldn't surprise me if the connector plug for them is on the wrong connector socket...
Manual says drive from J125 (pins 1,3 and 7), J128 (pin 5), J129 (pins 2 and 4), J131 (pin 5) and J132 (pin 2) return at J106 (pin 5). So I'd check them first.

Interesting stuff,
I'll take a look later.

Any one advise on what to look out for on the drive chips?
I can probe them no probs but what should i be seeing.
