Can I get a less powerul shaker for my Roadshow?

The shaker on my Roadshow is way too brutal. I feel like it's shaking the game to bits and I don't like playing it late at night even though I have an external games room!

Is there a "softer" option I can use? If there is something available, I'm sure you guys will know about it!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mark.

Just add a cheap 12v pwm inline. (or 24v? depends on the shaker you have)

IE:

Very easy to wireup and can set intensity to what you like.

Adjust the weights so pointing in different directions, ie take a weight at one end and rotate it 180 if both are currently facing the same way.

No need to start hacking it up!
There's a adjustment setting starting from L-6 ROMs - Shaker: NORMAL/SOFT/OFF
But that will only change how frequently it's used - not the power of it when used.

I couldn't recall if Road Show has an adjustment for the shaker. The difference between the 'Arcade' (full power) and 'Street' (softer) settings was noticeable on EarthShaker. Though with an early program (PA-1) that I tried from curiosity it wasn't as convincing as with my usual LA-1.

When I had my Roadshow upstairs everyone downstairs thought the place was going to collapse😂
Upside was I now have a pinroom in the garage😁

Thanks for your inputs. Believe it or not its currently set to "soft" and with one weight off too! It's still mental. I will try the PWM and see if that helps.

1 weight off will make the assy less balanced and therefore more shakey.

You need to return it to original state and you should find the "soft" setting more as expected.

OK, so I put the second weight back on opposite the other one, so they oppose each other, effectively balancing the shaft. I now have a rattler......but at least its better than nothing and doesn't feel like it's ripping the cabinet apart!

I will try the 45deg trick tomorrow to get a bit more shake out of it. I think these things must spin pretty fast so I shall grind a location on the shaft for the grub screw as per original fixing. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

Grinding the shaft o_O

Lol.....nothing too drastic! What I mean is I shall dremel a small indentation in the shaft for the new grub screw to locate into (once I get the optimum angle). This is how the original location was retained to stop the weight flying off.
