Cabinet repaint - how to make & then stencil?

I'm still in two minds about the "Baby Doll" EM cabinet, I could leave for the aged look (maybe a bit of touch up) or totally repaint; starting to prefer the second option.

I've no experience, but I presume I somehow need to make a stencil. I've no idea how to make one or how to use one.

Any help or pointer to "cabinet painting 101" gratefully received.

We're all different thankfully, personally I see beauty in that cabinets original paint & condition and would just clean it. My EM has been hand painted black so I must proceed :(

That looks pretty easy to reproduce, do you know about frisket? Also you have none of the webbing/splatter effect to contend with common EMs. Another thing I've learned is that they used lead paint up to a point so take precautions.

Thanks @astyy - Nope never heard of frisket - just googled - a sort of masking tape. I'll take a look, still not sure if I'm up to this and yes I agree with you there is a real charm of the original. The white paint has yellowed to a nice 'cream' colour. I could paint up the front of the backbox in cream - if I can make a good match - after all that's the 'tits' of a pinball machine isn't it - the place where you look first. Or at least I do!!! :-)

Whatever you decide you should send some 'before' pics of it to Jay on IPDB as the current pictures are lacking.
