I will visit Cardiff in the next few days, to pickup a pinball I purchased. I am planning on using a small van that could fit two pinballs. I was wondering if there was someone in that area, who would like to sell a 90s pinball to maximise my visit to South Wales.

My preferred shipping option would have been to use Martin, but he never replied to my messages when I inquired about his next visit to South Wales. If you know his schedule and are willing to introduce me to him, that would be great.

I have a transit connect LWB that I can only get two pins in if I take the head off one.
Would advise you to hire something vivaro size or transit size, unless you want to be whipping the head off.
Most smaller vans you will not get two pins in.
In my van also I have to remove the plunger if there is one.

Do you know how to contact Martin? I would be greatful, if someone could introduce me to Martin. Anyone know the Market schedule, especially his next visit to South Wales.

@Aladeran. I don’t believe Martin works by introductions. He is very busy, has regulars and the rest either follow the advice on how to contact him or get lucky.
I usually text first to give context, machine source location and destination location. Then I call him a few days later at times I think he is likely to be driving and will enjoy a chat.
Then I wait until he contacts me to say it is happening.
My view is he charges very little for the service he offers. It works for him because he stitches collections and deliveries so each journey has value. Some locations work out less efficient and he goes their less often or not at all.

Just had a good chat with Martin to plan a delivery later this week (literally just put the phone down). Never had a problem reaching him during normal working hours - I'm sure you won't.

I have an 08 TC LWB and even with my sub strapped to the mesh bulkhed in the middle near enough a foot deep I can still fit a pin in complete with plunger.
You must have the newer model, think that has a lower roof too?

Presume you saw that JM was in South Wales and sold last night on eBay at a sensible price?

I appreciate your advice, but that made me laugh. It's a very unique way to request a paid for service. That's getting him closer to the stuff of legends. :D

He is a legend. His service is unique. He doesn’t have a team of people working for him, no one to take calls, no web site booking system. His brother in law sometimes is helping him out.
He is part of the community and he respects our machines.

There are times where the seller lets you know the machine has been collected but that doesn’t mean it comes to you. It goes into his storage for a time when the route makes delivery to you efficient.

There is a delay to my trip to South Wales, because of Covid (not me). I was thinking that since the van would be empty on the way there, I could bring two (Brighton to Portsmouth) pinballs to the Bristol and Cardiff areas.

I realise that I am not known, but I could ask Winnie, Tobin or Bob (pinballtoys) to put chains on my TZ until I get back :P

Without any criticisms, is there an alternative to Martin that has experience with handling pinballs and care for them?
