Boing?

Strange question here, but if my finger slips off the left flipper button on my Stargate then a loud “boing” sound seems to come from the flipper switch. It doesn’t do it on the right flipper button/switch.

Thing is, I’m not sure how to adjust it to stop the boinging.

I don’t think I’ve ever said boing so much in a forum post.

Any ideas?

Edit: It happens just the same if the machine is powered on or off, so I think the leaf switch is vibrating. Just not sure how to stop it

Have you lifted the playfield and had a look at the back of the button to see if anything is get caught up when releasing the button

Try taking the button out and try it away from the cabinet, if it does the same noise take it too bits and check for damage/wear internally.

thinking about it i had a game that the playfield support bar was lying up against a solenoid (possibly the knocker, its been a while) and ever now and then I got a weird boing, more frequent that a free game though id have thought so possibly not the knocker...

Also could be the plastic for the opto interrupter catching on one edge of the opto and then boinging off ? though again you would need good hearing to notice that

this, bigger bit of metal at least

Thanks all, I stuck the phone up there to record last night and can’t see anything obvious.

I’ll wait until I next take the playfield up, it’s a bit of a bugger it seems on this table, and then take apart/rebuild.
