My blackout lost all sound yesterday.
I removed the board, reseated everything and resoldered a snapped jumper wire and I got speech back. Not sure which of my actions got that back !!
However I'm still missing all sound effects.
From research, I gather the speech comes from the add on board linked by the ribbon cable and has it's own power supply and ram etc.., therefore I'm assuming the main sound board is at fault.
Any suggestions? Bare in mind I'm a Mong at repairs so speak slowly
