Have an orderly queue of two people that have said they will take it so now sold pending payment.
Price dropped to £850.
I need to stop working on this and get my life back!
As per title - Williams System 11 Big Guns.
I bought this as a back from the dead restoration project and I have brought it back from the dead and got it to a place where it’s fully functional albeit it has a random lock up issue.
To get it where it is I have installed new Rotten Dog MPU, new Rotten Dog power supply, all 4 flippers rebuilt, new flipper switches installed, new coin door and backbox locks fitted. Playfield in good condition with no wear. All solenoids, including between flippers up post working. All flashers and lamps working. Like I say a fully functional machine with just this one issue.
It has obviously previously been stored in a damp environment as some of the underplayfield parts are rusted. The cabinet is a bit scraped but no serious gouges (seen a lot worse).
You can play it with no issues but then it just locks up. Lock ups can occur at anytime but usually kick in when the machine has been on for a time suggesting problem is related to something warming up and causing the lock ups. Lock ups are cleared by switching it off and back on again.
See my thread in Technical Questions forum to see exactly what I have tried so far to diagnose the fault.
If the wife wasn’t pestering me to put money back in bank account then I would persevere with this one but I don’t have the time or patience for it.
I know the asking price might be a bit on the heavy side for a machine with a known fault but £1,000 is what it cost me for the non-working machine and I’ve sunk about another £900 in to it thus far so I’m just trying to recoup some of my losses.
Pickholder has first dibs but think he’s passing on it.
Hey - and don’t let anyone tell you this is not a good game - I’ve played it lots while I’ve been fixing it and (when it’s not locked up!) it’s a really good game in my opinion. Easy to understand rules, nice easy shots, easy to get multiball and the bagatelle in the backbox is quirky and fun.
