Have an orderly queue of two people that have said they will take it so now sold pending payment.

Price dropped to £850.

I need to stop working on this and get my life back!

As per title - Williams System 11 Big Guns.

I bought this as a back from the dead restoration project and I have brought it back from the dead and got it to a place where it’s fully functional albeit it has a random lock up issue.

To get it where it is I have installed new Rotten Dog MPU, new Rotten Dog power supply, all 4 flippers rebuilt, new flipper switches installed, new coin door and backbox locks fitted. Playfield in good condition with no wear. All solenoids, including between flippers up post working. All flashers and lamps working. Like I say a fully functional machine with just this one issue.

It has obviously previously been stored in a damp environment as some of the underplayfield parts are rusted. The cabinet is a bit scraped but no serious gouges (seen a lot worse).

You can play it with no issues but then it just locks up. Lock ups can occur at anytime but usually kick in when the machine has been on for a time suggesting problem is related to something warming up and causing the lock ups. Lock ups are cleared by switching it off and back on again.

See my thread in Technical Questions forum to see exactly what I have tried so far to diagnose the fault.

If the wife wasn’t pestering me to put money back in bank account then I would persevere with this one but I don’t have the time or patience for it.

I know the asking price might be a bit on the heavy side for a machine with a known fault but £1,000 is what it cost me for the non-working machine and I’ve sunk about another £900 in to it thus far so I’m just trying to recoup some of my losses.

Pickholder has first dibs but think he’s passing on it.

Hey - and don’t let anyone tell you this is not a good game - I’ve played it lots while I’ve been fixing it and (when it’s not locked up!) it’s a really good game in my opinion. Easy to understand rules, nice easy shots, easy to get multiball and the bagatelle in the backbox is quirky and fun.

Still for sale - I know some people, myself included, see a “PM Sent” message and think “Damn I missed it” 😊

I’d have a go at this but way over on games at the mo plus away for a weeks sun soon. if it’s still here mid oct……….
Cheers Alan.

I noticed that the 2 x 3 bank drop targets at the top of the playfield seemed to randomly fire occasionally.

I was thinking maybe switches falsely registering as shut or not registering when in down position. Probably unconnected to reset issue I thought but looked in to it none the less.

Didn’t realize the switches for those were optos (thought this game was pre-optos).

Checked power wiring diagram and it looks like power to those two opto boards is +12V unregulated.

You mentioned in tech help thread (thanks for all you help and suggestions on that thread I really appreciate you sticking with me) that Williams System 11 manual says resets can be caused by too low +12v unregulated.

So I have disconnected all connections to the pcb boards for the 2 x 3 bank drop targets and left it in attract mode and it's been absolutely fine for 3 hours now.

Haven't played a game yet - too scared - you know how disappointing it is when you think it's all sorted and the issue comes back - but am gonna leave it a few more hours in attract mode and give it a pop later.

Maybe another red herring but who knows.

Yep. Another red herring.

Williams brought in opto drop targets on Millionaire, two single ones forming an in-line bank.

But I noticed works' Pin-Bots (the preceding game) had 12v and ground wires laid into the playfield harness, appearing at the target bank.
