In Progress Best Office In The World! Baywatch

Made a start on my new project this weekend and with the weather being decent I refurbed the legs as they were a bit crusty with some surface rust. I'm going to get all the cab metalwork sorted first before starting on the playfield but did a quick review and everything looks pretty good for a game that's not been touched in a long time. Amazingly there's no battery damage to the boards despite the seller not having any keys or knowing how to get into the backbox

The newly painted parts are starting to come together and looking pretty good I foolishly left myself the ball ache job of removing the side rails till last and they're putting up a fight!

Cab work all done It's no minter but it looks a lot better than when I got it Time to start stripping the playfield down next.

Got all the big stuff off the top of the playfield. I'd forgotten what a ball ache it is to work on Baywatch

Top side of the playfield is stripped and I've got a lot of stuff to clean! The playfield will be coming out tomorrow but thought I'd give it a quick go over with the foam cleaner so that I don't need a shower after every time I handle it First impressions are good and this should clean up really nicely

It's good to see this coming along nicely. Let me know if you need any parts as I have loads of game specific and generic stuff for Baywatch as I parted out 5 of them many moons ago. Even the small stuff, playfield stud posts brackets etc as I saved all of it that wasn't broken. Spare ramps, wireforms, flat plastics (except the 2 or 3 commonly broken ones). I expect I have almost all of what you may need.

Nice one Paul, I was thinking I'd be giving you a shout tbh mate Amazingly there are no broken plastics, even the one above the drops is ok but I might tap you up for a least one of the ramps. I'll put a list together once I've checked everything over and give you a shout.

Metal work from the top side of the playfield has gone though the ultrasonic cleaner and the tumbler is running I'm also working on the display panel but waiting for a delivery this week to be able to finish that off In the meantime I've taken the playfield out so I can start stripping the underside.

That big red subway ramp will be cracked at the top end of the playfield. They all are. And new ones are unobtanium. I used a spare bracket the same as the one at the bottom end of the ramp to provide more support at the top end. It looks stock when done. I should have some spare brackets so I will find one for you when I get the chance which may not be for a week or two.

If you are ocd about getting the same original colour screws to match (red green and yellow) I have stock.

Finished putting the display panel back together today so wanted to say thanks to Paul @Paul Andrew @Terranigma and Keith @new forest pinball for supplying the new ROM's, colour display and speakers

Underside of the playfield is stripped and ready to be cleaned up The first batch of metal is out of the tumbler and looking a lot shinier than when it went in The spray painting continues as I'm doing the playfield side rails, back panel and apron in white (rails done and etch primer has gone onto the back panel and apron).

I mocked up the apron today but not happy with the black Sega sticker on the white paint so an alternative has been ordered. Also in the middle of painting the life guard tower to make it look more like the real ones

Underside of the playfield is 99% rebuilt with all cleaned or new parts including all 4 flippers rebuilt so I put it back in the cabinet. Art blades were fitted while it was out and I'm really happy with the white painted side rails and back panel over the black originals, just brightens everything up

Looks great man! Absolutely loved having mine. Whenever I see a Baywatch for sale I'm always tempted again. Something about this game for some reason.
