Bally Surfers EM help

Hi all,

Need some help from an EM expert on this one. The game will kick a ball out but the flippers are never energised and the backbox doesn't seem to have any activity.

The lights do turn on from the left flipper button and the start button seems to do something, but I'm lost where to start looking.

Had originally thought it was a stuck slam tilt switch but now not sure.

Is this classic EM behavior of something obvious?

Yes, it is classic EM behaviour. I'm not an expert on EM's but it is probably one of the scoring reel zero indicator switch not registering the zero position properly, so the game won't start.
