Bally mpu repair kit/components uk??

Hi all,

after much looking and wating around i now have my 1st ss pinball machine project that i am fixing up it is a Mr & Mrs pacman that Andy was selling on here.

My 1st step is fixing the battery damage on the mpu, i have started the process of noteing down the components i need etc. I saw this on ebay

This has all the components i need but is in the US (dont want to wait weeks for delivery!!) Is there a good place to buy these kits (along with some other parts) in the UK??

I was planning on ordering the components from RS but when i seached for some of the diodes (1N4148) there were more options than i thought (like switching rectifier or small signal diode rectifier!) I am not sure what ones i need, plus i would have to order like 50+ of each components so didnt want to get it wrong

though i would ask here 1st to share in you wisdom,

Give andy the legend (pinball mania) a shout I'm sure I saw the kits on his site the other day. If not he prob has all the bits even if they aren't listed on his site

Or if its completed shagged, an altek MPU board is a good replacement.

Just sent pinballmania email, hopefully i will get all the stuff i need!

dont think the board is shagged, did a bench test after i cleaned it up last night (the board actually looks much better than most of the pictures of the board in the guides!) and got 6 flashes on the led, tested it again and it got stuck on 4 flashes. Just about to solder on a new U11 chip holder at work as the old one was a bit green! so that might work

Have neutralised all the acid?

Any 1n4148 will be fine. Buy 100x and keep in stock, I did about 20 years ago and I'm still working my way through them

yeah hopefully!! i got the vinegar out and cleaned all the affected areas, then when dry did the same with IPA to clean up the vinegar
